The intent of this self-paced online program is to provide an overview of the concepts of Compassion Fatigue, Traumatic Stress, Burnout as well as generate discussions of Self-Care Plans, individual Resiliency and Compassion Satisfaction in the workplace. As behavioral health clinical staff (case managers, residential staff, direct support workers), the current COVID-19 pandemic has placed an ever increasing burden on staff who work with this vulnerable, often traumatized client populations. Personal and psychological safety takes on a greater emphasis. It is hoped that this educational self-paced experience will better equip you to remain safe, while acquiring a more robust understanding of the nature of our work which requires the use of empathy and compassion.
