This training is being offered by: 

The Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals and

 The Opioid Treatment Program Health Home Initiative

This is a six hour training being held three hours on August 22, 2024 and three hours on

August 23, 2024.

This training will provide an overview of medications used in the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), including a brief history of opioids and opioid treatment in the US; recognizing the signs and symptoms of OUD; overview of the biological mechanisms and efficacy of medications used to treat OUD; changes in treatment related to the COVID-19 pandemic; and addressing stigma related to both OUD and medications used in treatment.

Chemical Dependency Professionals CEUs: This training is approved by The RI Certification Board for 6.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC&RC affiliate).

Social Worker CEUs: This training is pending approval by the National Association of Social Workers for 6.0 continuing education credits.

Mental Health Counselors CEUs: This training is pending approval by the RI Mental Health Counselors Association for 6.0 continuing education credits.

2. Identify the types of medications used for the treatment of opioid use disorder.

3. Recognize and respond to stigma related to opioid use disorder and MAT.
