This training will explore the current state of recreational and medical use of cannabis in order for participants to learn about how cannabis works in the body for medical issues, safety issues related to cannabis use, and how the medical marijuana system is utilized.
Continuing Education Credits:
Mental Health Counselors CEUs: This training is pending approval by the RI Mental Health Counselors Association for 2.0 continuing education credit.
Social Worker CEUs: This training is pending approval for 2.0 National Association of Social Workers continuing education credits.
Chemical Dependency Professionals CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 2.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC&RC affiliate).

Objectives
1. The participant shall have a working knowledge of the current state of legalization of medical and recreational cannabis
2. The participant shall have a working knowledge of the jurisdiction’s medical marijuana program
3. The participant shall have an understanding of the ethnocannabinoid system, cannabinoid receptors, cannabinoids and the interactions between them.
4. The participant shall have an understanding of cannabis pharmacology and the research associated with the medical use of cannabis.
5. The participant shall be able to identify the safety considerations for patient use of cannabis
